Two Fijians and a Solomon islander accused for sexual intercourse without consent.

TWO FIJIANS and a Solomon Islander have pleaded not guilty after being charged over an alleged gang rape earlier this year.

Fijians Josaia Waituruturu, 27 and Waivure Vatemosi, 24 and Stivard MC Callum, 19 from Solomon Islands have been charged with acts of indecency and sexual intercourse without consent.

The Supreme Court heard this week that a young woman, in her early 20s, told investigators the incident occurred on the evening of July 17  near Star Fish  Cove and the Elluke plateau area.

After being given alcohol, the girl said she was forced to have sex with the three men multiple times even though she tried on numerous occasions to reject them.

In her statement, the woman said the three men took her to Pango Village in a car after telling her they would drop her at her home nearby.

The car drove past her house in high speed, she tried to shout to the driver to drop her off first, but the driver told her that they have to go and get some fuel and that they will drop her home later.

The court heard that after refilling the car, they brought alcohol before dropping her and Waituruturu across the road from Star Fish Cove.
She was forced out of the vehicle with Waituruturu then forced to have sexual intercourse.

In her statement, the woman said the car returned, she told the driver to drop her off but the car later stopped at Elluke plateau where they slapped her, then the three men raped her. 

She said that they took her clothes and locked them in the boot of the car and left her sitting naked on the ground with the buses passing by.

She said before dropping her at home, they all had sexual intercourse with her again near the sea at Pango Village.

State prosecutor Gregory Takau and defense lawyer Jennifer Lau of Ridgway Blake Lawyers agreed to have the case adjourned until February 14 next year.
