Ford officially comes to Vanuatu

THE renowned Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of AutoDis as its exclusive Ford dealer in Vanuatu.

It is the first time this world famous motor car has officially been in  the country.
AutoDis managing director Thierry Bourgeois said AutoDis has built a world class showroom and service facility in the Champagne Estate, opposite Wilco.

“This showroom reinforces both Ford’s and our own commercial commitment to the market,’’ he said.

Ford’s South Pacific district manager Craig Phipps said Ford’s expectations with AutoDis were very high.

“This appointment comes at a time of great opportunity and growth in the region,’’ he said.
“We are enthusiastic and excited to welcome AutoDis into the Ford family of dealerships.”

Mr Bourgeois said the management team of AutoDis led by Raymond Vallette will use their extensive knowledge of the motor industry and the local market to develop Ford’s presence in Vanuatu.

“Our goal is to provide the highest standards in the market for sales, service and unparalleled customer satisfaction,’’ said Mr Bourgeois.

He said initially, AutoDis will be offering the Ford Ranger pickup in all its different body styles, which has annual sales of more than 1000 in the Pacific.

“It is recognised as one of the toughest trucks available anywhere in the world and will be a perfect fit for the conditions in Vanuatu,’’ he said.

Mr Bourgeois said the range will be expanded next year with the addition of the prestigious 2012MY Ford F150 truck which will arrive in the showroom in February.

“The F150 is made in the US and will only be available in America, Tahitii, New Caledonia and, from next year – Vanuatu,’’ he said.

He said Ford and AutoDis will also be introducing the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus to Vanuatu.
“These vehicles are manufactured in Thailand will have more options than the ones made in Europe,’’ he said.

Mr Bourgeois said he had been talking to Ford about bringing their iconic brand to Vanuatu since 2007, but the state of the global economy had slowed the process.

The new Ford showroom will be open to the public from Saturday.
