Vanuatu's accession to WTO passed

IN spite of numerous concerns and criticisms raised during past weeks

opposing the accession of Vanuatu into the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the national parliament passed the WTO bill Thursday morning before the speaker officially closed the seventh extraordinary parliamentary session for this year 2011.

Members of parliament will have to meet again in the second and final ordinary session for this year,  scheduled for December 5, 2011, for the budgetary session.
