Wright demands apology

A Port Vila Municipal Councillor, Tony Wright, is demanding a public apology from the author of the letter to the editor in today’s Daily Post newspaper, which alleges he had been using his position to demand free drinks from kava bar owners.

The Union of Moderate Parties (UMP) councillor said the letter was defamatory and has tarnished his good reputation and credibility as an elected councillor.

Mr Wrights said he will not hesitate but file a defamatory case in court if the author of the letter failed to publicly apologise over his comments.
