Well-known Vanuatu volcanologist retires

Vanuatu’s senior volcanologist has retired due to medical reasons.
Mr Charley Douglas is the first ni-Vanuatu to take on the job some 30 years ago.
He was first employed in 1977 at the Geo-Hazard section as a technician –doing basically design and repair work, monitor and reporting earthquakes.
Personal health has brought about his early retirement last January.
