PASSENGERS of the Fiji flight last Saturday morning had to spent extra time at Bauerfield Airport, as no one from the Boarder Control Unit (Immigration) was there to receive them.
The Independent understands from passengers who had arrived from Fiji, and those who departed from Vila that day, that they had to wait until Immigration officials arrived to have their travelling documents checked.
The Independent understands this is not the first time such an incident has happened at the Bauerfield International Airport, where passengers have to wait extra hours for Immigration officers.
